What You Need to Begin

Before you start the setup process, make sure you have:

  • A brand-new Trezor® device (Model One or Model T)
  • A computer running Windows, macOS, or Linux
  • A stable internet connection
  • USB cable included with your device
  • A private space to note down your recovery seed
Important: Never use a shared or public computer when setting up your hardware wallet.

Step 1: Connect Your Trezor® Device

  1. Unbox your TreZor® and check the hologram security seal.
    If the seal is tampered with, do not use the device.
  2. Use the provided USB cable to connect your Trezor to your computer.
  3. Open your browser and visit Trézor.io/start®.

Your device will guide you to continue the installation through the official app.

Step 2: Download & Install Trezor Suite®

At Trézor.io/start®, download the Trezor Suite® application. This is the secure interface you will use to manage your coins, check your balance, and configure your privacy settings.

Step 3: Initialize Your New Wallet

This process ensures your crypto identity is created offline and never shared with any server or third party.

Step 4: Backup Your Recovery Seed (MOST IMPORTANT)

Your Trezor® will display a 12-, 18-, or 24-word recovery seed. This seed is the one and only backup to your entire wallet.

  • Write the words on the provided recovery card
  • Do NOT take photos or screenshots
  • Do NOT store the seed digitally
  • Do NOT share it with anyone
  • Store it offline in a safe location

If your device is ever lost, stolen, or damaged, the recovery seed is the only way to restore your funds.

Step 5: Set Your Secure PIN

Your PIN protects your Trezor® from unauthorized physical access.

  • Choose a PIN of 6–10 digits
  • Avoid repeated or simple sequences
  • Confirm the PIN on your device screen

Step 6: Explore the Trezor Suite® Dashboard

Once initialization is complete, you will reach your Trezor Suite® dashboard. Here you can:
